Annie Get your gun

Lincoln Charity Multi-Gun Match

In 2014, The Foundation and the Lincoln Rifle Club’s Multi-Gun Division put in place an annual event to be held each October known as “Annie Get Your Gun”.  The event is designed to introduce ladies to the challenges of the Multi-Gun Shooting style and includes rifles, pistols, and shotguns.  Registration is limited and the fees are kept low.

This event starts with a safety briefing, followed by the formation of shooting “squads.”  Each squad is stocked and staffed with an instructor, firearms, ammunition and assorted targets.  The instructors and safety officers are assigned to the squad, so each squad will shoot with the same instructors throughout the event.  Each instructor provides guidance regarding firearm handling, tips and proper techniques used to shoot the established scenarios.

Midway through the shooting event, we take a break and enjoy lunch.  The lunch is a time to enjoy the food provided by the Foundation and to share stories, and successes and the surprising realization that “we can do it.!”

Cal Smith Scholarship

Support our sport (S.O.S.) Annual Event

Each year, usually in May, the Foundation teams up with the Lincoln Rifle Club’s Multi-Gun Division to sponsor a Charity Shoot with the proceeds of the event being dedicated to a different charity each year.  In 2014, approximately $10,000.00 was raised and forwarded to the American Brain Tumor Association.  In 2017, $5,000 was raised for the Lincoln Police Department to purchase new ballistic helmets.

This event brings shooters from all over California. The scenarios created for the shooters will require pistol, rifle, and shotgun skills. Each shooter is scored as they shoot each scenario and a combination of scores from all scenarios will determine the winner and place holders. Food, games, raffles, and good old American pride and friendship will rule the day.  Everyone goes home happy and tired. At the end of the day, a charity receives a nice donation to help them continue with their good works.
